I looked out my window the other day and saw this patch of snow with tire tracks down on the street below, and it struck me as somewhat artistic, like an abstract expressionist painting or something.
The first and easiest abstract expressionist painter to compare it to is Franz Kline. Below left is a detail from my photo above, and below right is Kline’s 1961 painting “Le Gros,” which is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art.
I decided to have a little fun with this snow and tire tracks image … below is a Photoshop version where I have taken a part of the original image and have copied and flipped the orientation of it numerous times to make this abstract art work. Maybe this could be the starting point for a painting …?
